Nestled in the heart of the beautiful KwaZulu-Natal Midlands lies Sunfield Home Howick, one of the largest private Homes for intellectually impaired adults in South Africa. Our mission is to provide a caring and home-like environment for life. Sunfield Home is a registered NPO and has been a loving home for intellectually impaired adults for over 65 years.
Sunfield Home is situated on 22 hectares of sloping hillside in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Our residents enjoy beautifully grassed areas shaded by large trees, which are maintained by our committed Estate staff.
We have several sports facilities where our residents can participate in soccer, soft ball, swimming, games and more.
There is a heated swimming pool, two bocce courts, as well as a putt-putt course, which the residents can enjoy.
As the end of the year draws to a close it’s a time to reflect on all the achievements and progress made during 2025, and to plan for 2026. With the rains arriving the gardens and grounds are looking beautiful and all the hard work over the winter months can now be seen.
At Sunfield Howick, caring for people and caring for the planet go hand in hand. Our newest recycling initiative is helping us do both — creating a more sustainable community while giving our Residents meaningful opportunities to contribute and grow.
The year has certainly flown by, and we have been kept busy ensuring that the home runs as smoothly as possible. With this having been my second year in the role I must say I have enjoyed it a lot more, and it’s certainly been full of significant projects and activities.
